Taryn-Marie Jenkins, a Scripps journalism major (class of 2023), made a national television appearance on NBC television on Oct. 11.
The Today Show celebrated the International Day of the Girl during their 8 a.m. hour, including filling their plaza audience with girls. As part of the show, Dylan Dreyer (a Girl Scout alumni) did a live segment with the National Gold Award Girl Scouts.

Gold Award Girl Scouts are the doers who want to make the world a better place. The Girl Scout Gold Award is given to those who have made a difference.
Girl Scouts who earn the Gold Award tackle issues that are dear to them and drive lasting change in their communities and beyond. The Gold Award is a key that can open doors to scholarships, preferred admission tracks for college, and career opportunities.
