Scrippas on the rise: Ciara White-Sparks
An HU junior majoring in journalism and minoring in marketing, Ciara White-Sparks has won the title of USA National Miss District of Columbia. She will represent at the 2021 National Pageant in Disney World on July 4th-10th to compete for a prize package that is valued at $100,000 in prizes and scholarships. USA National Miss is the #1 pageant in America, awarding girls scholarships and lifelong opportunities through advocacy. The state competition took place on October 11th virtually and was scored based on the contestant's Interview and Headshot. As a state titleholder, Ciara has won a prize package valued at $1,000 and more and will be a state represented for the Crown CARES anti-bullying platform. Ciara will also be able to extend her own personal platform Fearfully, Beautifully, and Wonderfully Made the Movement which provides self-confidence and self-esteem workshops to young women between the ages of 13-18.
