Scripps Howard Welcomes Another Wave of Prospects

By Jada Salahuddin

Over 3,000 high school students and their parents will visit the campus for the 34th Annual High School Day on Friday, April 6. The event is being coordinated by the Office of Admission to allow prospective high school students the opportunity to experience and explore a day in the collegiate life of a "Hamptonian." The day opens with a welcome from President William R. Harvey followed by a day full of activities including guided campus tours, school wide open houses, performances by the HU band, a Blue and White Football game, and a Battle of the Bay Step Show.

The Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications will hold an open house, and faculty and students will be readily available for questions. To entertain visitors and showcase student talent, the JAC 467 Event Management class has coordinated a talent show, which will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. on the soundstage, located between the Student Center and the football field. Sixteen acts auditioned for the opportunity to share their talents in rap, dance, songs, and spoken word.
