Award-winning Photographer Ross Taylor to
Share Career Insights with Journalism Students
On Wed., Nov. 30, international photographer Ross Taylor will meet with students at the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications (SHSJC). Taylor, a Virginian-Pilot staff photographer, will discuss highlights of his career and offer advice to students interested in photography and photojournalism.
"Ross is passionate and driven," said Dr. Michael DiBari, Scripps Howard Endowed Professor, who coordinated the event about Taylor’s reason for visit SHSJC. "He takes pride in his work and wants to encourage others who share an interest in his chosen field."
Taylor gained national recognition for his skills in photojournalism and won in the category of best use of photography at both The Virginian-Pilot and the Hartford Courant, where he worked previously. The Virginian-Pilot is planning to nominate Taylor for his Afghanistan project, "A Chance in Hell," for next year’s coveted Pulitzer Prize.
All are invited to attend the event, which will take place at 4 p.m. in room 238 of the Scripps Howard building.
