For the third year in a row, APSE will visit the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications for a Day of Diversity.
On Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., APSE (Associated Press Sports Editors) will share information and tips with students soon to enter the challenging world of multimedia at the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications. Accomplished journalists from ESPN.com, USA Today, the Washington Post and others will take part in a panel discussion on the "Future of Journalism." Pre-registered students will cover the panel discussion or a news conference later in the day with Hampton University's football coach and players. To close out the day, professionals will be on hand to work with students on stories, videos, photos and blogs for a final presentation.
For the third consecutive year, Hampton University students interested in careers in journalism will receive APSE internship stipends. Two students will receive a $3,000 stipend and a $500 scholarship for the summer of 2011. Both will perform their internships at APSE member newspapers.
