Radio Industry Seminar comes to Scripps Howard

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, a seminar featuring entertainment industry professionals will be held at the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications at 6:30 p.m. in room 139. Speaking at the event will be Norfolk-native Roosevelt Harrell III, who has previously worked with Roc-A-Fella Records recording artists, and Hampton alum and producer Matt White from "Overnight" on 95.7 radio. Harrell, known on the airwaves as "Bink," will chat with WHOV 88.1 radio station's Kevin "The Moose" Anderson of "Lessons in Jazz" on the topic "Where have I heard that before? The link between hip-hop and …"

The Entertainment Industry Seminar will allow students interested in working in radio the chance to ask questions and learn what it's really like to break into the dynamic world of radio. Said Anderson, "This is an opportunity for students to have direct access to a radio veteran with a 20-year career, as well as to gain practical career insights from White who is a recent HU graduate."
