On Friday, April 20, the Hampton University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) has partnered with the "Black Reign: HU Rips the Runway" to present the first public relations fashion panel "Breaking Into the Fashion Industry." Students interested in pursuing a career in the fashion industry are urged to attend, as there will be a guest panel full of PR fashion professionals sharing their expertise.
"The Public Relations Panel Discussion on Breaking Into the Fashion Industry" will start promptly at 4 p.m. in the R.P. Scripps Auditorium of the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications. The discussion will highlight the methods, strategies, and challenges to making it as a public relations professional in the fashion industry. Guests will include Nathaniel Hinton, a publicist at PR Consulting; Rajni Jacques, Fashion News Editor at Glamour magazine; and Shiona Turini, Accessories Director at Teen Vogue magazine and a 2004 Hampton University and Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications public relations alum. There will also be a special giveaway of vouchers sponsored by online fashion company, ASOS.
Following "Breaking Into the Fashion Industry," there will be an exclusive networking reception from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for all PRSSA members. For more information, be sure to follow @HamptonPRSSA or @FASHION_PRSSA on Twitter or call Brittany Brown at (213) 458-4773.
